Advancements – Past and Present of Technology

As technology is advancing, our demand for advancements in media is expected. According to Science Direct, “attention is focused upon the adoption (demand) rather than the creation (supply) of new technology” (Lippman, 1984). The most used devices are currently the mobile phone and a laptop as they provide content desired that is portable and convenient. Past Laptop: The first portable computer was called Osborne 1 built by Adam Osborne in 1981. It weighed 24 pounds and had a 5-inch screen and cost $1795 (Rezaee, 2020). Social Media Effects on Culture

Technology has advanced daily activities through mass media and changed society’s culture. According to EduBlogs, “social media increased the connections between people and created an environment in which you can share your opinions, pictures and lots of stuff. Social media improved creativity and social awareness for our society by interacting with other people and sharing new ideas and opinions” (Kerem, 2016).
